Frequently used operations (managing databases, tables, columns, relations, indexes, users, permissions, etc) can be performed via the user interface, while you still have the ability to directly execute any SQL statement. phpMyAdmin supports a wide range of operations on MySQL and MariaDB. PhpMyAdmin is a free software tool written in PHP, intended to handle the administration of MySQL over the Web. Click on Database tab and select the database for which you need to give access(in our case the newly created database in step 4).Select the privileges you need for that user.Select "any host" if you are planing to connect from different hosts. You can select localhost if the connection is made only form local.Click on Privileges tab and select "Add user account".
Enter database name, select collation (you may leave it to default) and click create.Login using username root and root password.
